Covid 19 Protection Strategy

In order to keep a student body safe you need a comprehensive strategy on how to best protect your student population. This strategy should be a combination of social distancing and other sanitizing measures combined with a sentinel testing program to detect infections prior to being able to impact your general student population.

Make sure you have the right test

Believe it or not some of our major competitors do NOT have FDA authorization to test asymptomatic subjects, yet they do it anyhow. Here is what the FDA says about one competitors test:

“Collection of nasal swabs and oral fluid specimens is limited to symptomatic individuals
within 14 days of COVID-19 symptom onset”

However they are still collecting samples from “asymptomatic” individuals without regard for the FDA guidelines. The FDA recently even issued a warning about their testing capabilities saying:

“The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is alerting patients and health care providers of the risk of false results, particularly false negative results, with the (company name omitted) SARS-Cov-2 test”

So while others may say they have a Covid test, is it the correct test to keep your students safe?
